Eucharistic Ministers Extraordinary Ministers of Communion
"I am the Bread of Life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst." John 6:35
This sacred and rewarding ministry provides the opportunity to share the body and blood of Christ at mass, as well as with those that are unable to attend mass (i.e. home bound, hospital, nursing home).
Requirements include that you must be at least 16 yrs old, confirmed and if married it must be by the laws of the church. There is an established schedule for each weekend mass, and sign ups occur throughout the year for extra mass schedules (i.e. Easter, Christmas and Feast Days).
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are needed at Sunday Masses and for nursing home visits, hospital visits and home visits.
Participation in the Mass through service during the Mass brings us closer to the Table of the Lord. EM’s (Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion) serve the “servants of the Lord” by bringing the Body & Blood of Christ to every person approaching the table of the Lord.
Benefits in serving as an EM For the volunteer: Your engagement in the “Mystery that is the Mass” becomes richer; serving Christ to the servants of the Lord deepens reverence for the Body & Blood of Jesus Christ For the community: The servants of the Lord are served with timeliness and joy
